ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Orders of magnitude (time)

Orders of magnitude are a way of measuring how long it takes for something to happen. For example, say you want to count to 10. That would take about one second. That's one order of magnitude. But say you wanted to count from 1 to 100. That would take about 10 seconds. That's 10 orders of magnitude. The bigger the number, the more orders of magnitude it takes.
