ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Orientation character

Orientation characters are symbols that show which way people, animals, or objects are facing in a drawing or picture. It's like a little arrow or pointer that tells you if someone is looking to the left, right, up, or down.

For example, imagine you draw a picture of a stick figure. If you don't include an orientation character, it might be hard to tell which direction the stick figure is facing. But if you draw a little arrow pointing to the left, then you can clearly see that the stick figure is facing left.

Orientation characters are important for communicating a lot of information quickly and clearly in a drawing or picture. Without them, things might be confusing or unclear. So next time you draw something, don't forget to add that little arrow or pointer to show which way things are facing!
