ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Orthopedic medicine

Orthopedic medicine is a type of medicine that helps people who have problems with their bones, muscles, and joints. When we run, jump, or play, we use our bones, muscles, and joints. Sometimes, we get hurt while doing these activities or because of other reasons like growing old or having a disease.

Orthopedic doctors are like super heroes who help people who have injuries or problems with their bones, muscles, and joints. They use their x-ray vision aka special equipment to see inside your body to find out what's wrong. Then, they use tools like casts, crutches, braces, or surgeries to help fix you.

If you ever get hurt or feel pain in your bones, muscles, or joints, visit an orthopedic doctor. They are very good at making people feel better and helping them move and play again!
