Oslo Principles on Global Obligations to Reduce Climate Change

The Oslo Principles are a set of rules for how countries and individuals around the world should work together to reduce climate change.

Imagine that you and your friends are all playing with blocks. If one person starts stacking their blocks very high, it might make it harder for others to play with the blocks too. If everyone works together to make sure their stack of blocks is not too high, then everyone can have fun playing with the blocks.

The same idea applies to climate change. If one country or group of people uses lots of energy and produces lots of pollution, it can harm the environment for everyone else. The Oslo Principles say that everyone should work together to make sure we don't use too much energy or produce too much pollution.

This means countries should agree to limit how much greenhouse gases they emit into the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide which comes from burning fossil fuels. They should also work to find more energy-efficient ways to power their homes and businesses, like using wind or solar power instead of traditional sources like coal.

Individuals can also do their part by using less energy in their homes, driving less, and recycling more. It's a team effort to help protect our planet and make sure we all have a clean and healthy place to live.
