Ostan (Geography)

Okay kiddo, so "ostan" is a word that refers to a region in Iran. It's kind of like how we have states in the United States. Each "ostan" has its own government, capital city, and people who live there.

There are 31 "ostans" in Iran, and they each have their own unique geography. Some "ostans" are in mountainous areas, while others are near the sea, and some are even in the desert. All of these different environments affect the weather, plants, and animals that live there.

Each "ostan" is also divided into smaller areas called "shahrestan," which are kind of like our counties in the United States. And within each "shahrestan," there are even smaller areas called "bakhsh," which are kind of like towns or villages.

So basically, "ostan" is just a fancy word for a region in Iran, and each "ostan" has its own unique geography and people who live there.
