Oswald Rufeisen
Oswald Rufeisen was a man who lived a long time ago, during a time when a lot of people were being treated unfairly because of their religion. He was Jewish, which means he believed in a certain religion that was different from some of the other people around him.
Because he was Jewish, Oswald Rufeisen and his family were in danger. So when bad things started happening to Jewish people all over his country, he knew he had to do something to help keep his family safe.
One day, he decided to pretend to be a Christian person instead of a Jewish person. He changed his name and his appearance, and started living with a new family that took him in. He pretended to be one of them, and even started going to church with them.
But he didn't just do this to protect himself. He also used his new position to help other Jewish people who were in danger. He would sneak around and help them get food and supplies, or find them new places to hide.
Even though he was risking his own safety, Oswald Rufeisen continued to help Jewish people throughout the war. And even after it was over, he continued to help people in need. He is now remembered as a hero, someone who stood up for what was right even when it was hard.
