Out-of-band management

Out-of-Band management is a way for technicians to manage a computer system or network device from a console connection that is separate from the network the device is on. This means that the technician can still access the device even if the network the device is on is not working. This is helpful because it allows technicians to view and diagnose problems on the device, even if the network it is on is not working properly.
