Outsider music

Outsider music is music made by people outside of the normal music-making world. It might be made by people who don't know any of the normal rules or tricks of making music, or music made by people with different backgrounds or life experiences than what is usually found in professional music circles. Outsider music is often unique, unexpected, and strange, but can also be powerful and inspiring.
