ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Overlayer

An overlayer is like having two pieces of paper that you put on top of each other. When you do this, you can see both pieces of paper, but one is on top of the other. This is called an overlayer.

In computer programs, an overlayer is when you have one picture or image on top of another picture or image. This is used a lot in programs like Photoshop, where you can put one image on top of another and blend them together.

Imagine you have a picture of a cat on one piece of paper, and a picture of a dog on another piece of paper. You can put the picture of the cat on top of the picture of the dog and make it look like the cat and the dog are sitting together. This is called an overlayer in a computer program.

Overlayers can be used to create really cool effects in pictures, like making it look like a person is standing in front of a big mountain even though they are actually just standing in front of a picture of a mountain on a computer screen. So, an overlayer is really just like having two pictures on top of each other.
