Overseas country of France

France is a big country that is on the continent of Europe. But did you know that France also has some special places called overseas territories that are far away from mainland France? It's kind of like having a really big house and having a few rooms that are not connected to the main house but are still owned by the same person.

The French overseas territories are located all over the world, including in the Caribbean Sea, South America, and even in the Indian Ocean! Some of these territories are small islands, while others are larger and have their own unique culture and history.

Even though these territories are not physically connected to France, they are still considered to be a part of France. This means that the people who live there are French citizens and follow French laws, just like people who live in mainland France.

So when you hear someone talk about the overseas country of France, they are referring to these special territories that belong to France but are located far away.
