Overshoot (signal)

Overshoot is when a signal goes higher or lower than it is supposed to. Think of a seesaw at the park. The seesaw has a starting point in the middle. When one person gets on the seesaw, the other person goes up higher and it "overshoots" the starting point. This is the same with a signal. When it gets turned on or off, it can go too high or too low, which is called overshoot.
