The Overton Window is a way of thinking about how much people in society will accept when it comes to an issue or policy. It works like a sliding scale, with ideas that are very accepted on one end, and ideas that are not accepted at all on the other end. In between these two sides of the scale, there are smaller shades of opinion about how much or how little people are willing to accept. The Overton Window is a way to see what ideas are popular, or acceptable, in a given moment.
