ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pacificism

Imagine you're playing with your friends and they start fighting over a toy. You don't want to fight with them because you believe that fighting is always wrong. Instead of joining in, you try to talk to them and find a way for everyone to be happy without anyone getting hurt.

This is what pacifism is all about. It's a belief that violence and war are never the answer and that we should always try to find peaceful solutions to problems. Pacifists believe that all people are equal and that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.

This doesn't mean that pacifists are weak or that they never stand up for themselves. It just means that they try to do it in peaceful ways. For example, if someone is bullying you at school, a pacifist might try to talk to the bully and understand why they're acting that way. They might also try to find a way to resolve the conflict without anyone getting hurt.

Overall, pacifism is all about promoting peace, equality, and justice for all. It's a way of living and treating others with kindness and respect, even when things get tough.
