Okay, so you know how sometimes we make snacks at home and fry them in oil? Like, we make French fries or pancakes or chicken nuggets? Well, pakora is also a snack that is made by frying it in oil.
Pakora is a type of snack that is very popular in South Asia, especially in countries like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. It is made by taking small pieces of vegetables or meat or cheese and dipping them in a mixture of flour and spices. Then, these dipped pieces are put in hot oil and fried until they become crispy and golden brown.
The batter or the mixture in which we dip the veggies or cheese or meat is made by mixing flour, spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, and sometimes even chilli powder. We also add water to make a thick paste-like consistency.
Pakoras can be made with different types of ingredients like onions, potatoes, cauliflower, spinach, cheese, chicken or meat. They can be eaten with different types of dips or chutneys like mint chutney, tamarind chutney or tomato ketchup.
Pakoras are a very tasty and popular snack, however, they should be eaten in moderation as they are deep-fried and can be high in calories.
