Pan-STARRS stands for Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System. It’s a telescope in Hawaii that takes pictures of the night sky. Scientists use it to study things like asteroids, comets, and exploding stars. Pan-STARRS is also used to look for far away galaxies and supermassive black holes that can’t be seen with regular telescopes. The telescope takes lots of pictures to help scientists learn more about what’s out in space!
