Okay kiddo, so you know how we have sandwiches for lunch sometimes, right? A panini is a special type of sandwich that is made in a special machine that squishes it together and makes it all warm and toasty.
First, we start with two slices of bread, usually a type of bread called Italian bread that's a little bit harder than regular bread. Then we pick what we want to put in our panini - it can be ham and cheese, turkey and avocado, or anything else we like.
We put our chosen ingredients between the two slices of bread, and then we put the whole sandwich in the panini machine. The machine has a flat bottom and a hinged top that comes down to squish the sandwich together.
The machine heats up and toasts the bread while it presses the sandwich together. This makes the bread nice and crispy on the outside, and the cheese or other ingredients inside all hot and melty.
And there you have it, kiddo - a delicious and toasty panini sandwich!
