Paper lantern

A paper lantern is a special kind of lamp that you can hang up in your room or outside. It's made up of a frame which is usually made from bamboo or wire, and it's covered in pretty paper. The paper is often see-through, so it lets the light shine through it and make it look really pretty.

To make a paper lantern, first the frame is made which is like the skeleton of the lantern. It's usually made of bamboo or wire. Then the pretty paper is cut into strips and glued onto the frame. Sometimes there is a special kind of glue that is heated and used to stick the paper to the frame. Once the paper is glued on, a light bulb can be placed inside the lantern.

When it's dark outside and you turn on the light, it makes the lantern glow! The light shines through the see-through paper, and it looks really pretty. People often hang up lanterns at festivals or celebrations to add fun and color to the atmosphere.

Just like how you would carefully hold a balloon so it doesn't pop, you also have to be careful when handling paper lanterns as they are delicate and might rip easily. Never touch the light bulb and always make sure an adult is around when hanging it up or turning it on.
