ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Parashah

Parashah is a Hebrew word that means "portion" or sometimes "section". It refers to a specific part or section of the Torah, which is the Jewish holy book that contains the first five books of the Bible. Each week, Jewish people read a different parashah from the Torah during their religious services, so they can learn and discuss the teachings within that parashah. It's kind of like a homework assignment given each week to help them become better people by learning important lessons and values, just like when you do homework to learn things in school.
