Parfleche

Parfleche is kind of like a box that some Native American people used a long time ago to carry and store their important things. It was made out of animal hides, like cow or buffalo, and was really tough to protect the things inside. The hides were cleaned and dried, then painted with colorful designs to make them look pretty. The hides were folded and sewn together to make the box shape, and sometimes they would tie them closed with straps. The parfleche was a really important tool for these people because they used it to carry their food, clothing, and other things they needed to survive. It was kind of like a backpack or a suitcase, but made out of an animal hide instead of fabric or plastic.
