Participatory development is like making a cake with your friends. When you make a cake, you need different ingredients, like flour, sugar and eggs, and everyone can help mixing them together. Participatory development is like that, but instead of making a cake, we work together to make our community better.
We start by asking people what they need or want in their community. Just like you would ask your friends what they want in the cake, we ask the people who live in that community what they think can make their lives better. Then, we have different people come together to plan and work on things to make those ideas happen.
Just like the cake that everyone helps to make, participatory development is about everyone working together to make things better for everyone. It's a way of working that makes sure that everyone has a say and everyone can help to make it happen.
