Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is like a game. Imagine that you, along with many other players, are playing a game where your goal is to find the best possible spot on a map. There are many places on the map, and you don't know which one is the best. So, to find the best spot, you and the other players all start in different places and then each of you moves around the map looking for a better spot.
When you find a place that you think is better than your current spot, you mark it with a "flag". Whenever any of the other players find a spot that they think is better than their current spot, they mark that spot, too. As you and the other players move around the map, the flags will tell you the best spots that have been found so far. Eventually, after more movement and more flags, the best spot on the map will stand out! This is what Particle Swarm Optimization is like - it is a way for a group of players to move around in search of the best spot.
