ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Passenger problem

Imagine you are in the car with your family and you are driving on a long road trip. You are all happy and excited at first, but after a while, you start feeling bored and uncomfortable because you have been sitting for a long time.

Now imagine if you are one of the passengers in an airplane flying across the world. Just like in the car, you are sitting in a tiny seat for many hours, but this time, you can't just get out and walk around whenever you want.

This is called the passenger problem, and it happens when we have to sit still for a long time without any physical activity. It can make us feel restless, uncomfortable, and even anxious. It's especially hard for young children who have lots of energy and need to move around.

To solve the passenger problem, we can do a few things. We can try to move around as much as we can, like stretching our legs and arms in the airplane aisle. We can also pack toys, books, or games to keep us occupied during the trip. Lastly, we can try to relax our minds by taking deep breaths or listening to calming music.

Long trips can be hard, but with a little bit of effort, we can make it through and arrive at our destination feeling happy and refreshed.
