ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Patch collecting

Do you know what a patch is? It’s like a sticker, but instead of being made of paper, it’s made of a special fabric that can be sewn onto things like clothes and bags.

Patch collecting is when people like to collect lots of different patches and put them on a special piece of fabric called a “patch board”. These patches can be from all sorts of different places or events, like from a trip to a national park or from a special sports event.

Some people even trade patches with each other, like trading cards, to try and get patches they don’t have yet. It’s a fun way to remember special experiences and make new friends!
