ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Patriarchate

The patriarchate is a big word that means a system where men have more power and control than women. It's like playing a game where one team (men) gets more points and advantages than the other team (women).

For example, in some places, men might be the only ones allowed to be the leaders of the family, government, or religion, even if women are just as smart and talented as the men. This means that women might not be able to do certain jobs, have a say in important decisions, or get the same opportunities as men.

The idea of the patriarchate is not fair because everyone, no matter their gender or identity, should have the same chances and rights. It's important to work towards a world where people are equal and free to be whoever they want to be.
