Peace symbols

Peace symbols are shapes or signs that represent peace. A famous peace symbol is a dove carrying an olive branch, which dates back to ancient times and was used in the Bible. Another popular peace symbol is the "peace sign," which was created in 1958 by British artist Gerald Holtom. It consists of a circle with three lines going out from the center. The lines pointed down were meant to symbolize the mourning of those killed in war, while the circle was meant to symbolize hope for a peaceful future.
