Peak signal-to-noise ratio

Peak signal-to-noise ratio (also called PSNR) is a way of measuring how good (or bad) something looks or sounds when compared to the original. For example, if you make a copy of a movie, PSNR can measure how much the copy differs from the original. The higher the number, the better the copy looks.
