Peculiar galaxy

A peculiar galaxy is a type of galaxy that looks different from most other galaxies. Think of it like having a really unique hairstyle compared to everyone else.

Now, galaxies are collections of stars, gas, and dust that are stuck together by gravity. They come in different shapes and sizes. Some are like a big circle or spiral, and some are like blobs.

But peculiar galaxies are different. Like a kid who dresses up in a wacky outfit, they have unusual shapes and features. Some of them might look like they've been stretched or pulled, like a funny face. Others might have weird bumps or bubbles sticking out of them.

Scientists study peculiar galaxies to try to figure out how they got their strange shapes. Maybe they bumped into another galaxy and got twisted around, or maybe something exploded inside of them. Just like trying to piece together the story behind your outlandish outfit, scientists try to piece together the story behind each peculiar galaxy.
