Peninsulares

Peninsulares are people who have come from Spain to live in Latin American countries like Mexico and Peru. They were usually wealthy people who the Spanish government sent to help the countries develop, and they had a lot of power and influence. They were different from criollos, which were wealthy people who were born in the Latin American countries.
