ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pentation

Ok, so imagine you have a number, like 2. If you raise it to the power of another number, like 3, you get 2 times 2 times 2, which equals 8. This is called exponentiation.

Now, if you take that result, 8, and raise it to the power of another number, let's say 2 again, you get 8 times 8, which equals 64. This is called tetration.

But wait, we're not done yet! If you take 64 and raise it to the power of 2 again, you get 4,096. This is called pentation.

So, pentation is just a fancy way of saying taking a number to the power of itself multiple times. It's like stacking blocks on top of each other, but instead of stopping at 3 or 4 blocks, you keep adding more and more until you get a really big number.
