ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

People smuggling

People smuggling is when people pay someone to help them move illegally from one country to another. This means that these people are not allowed to travel between countries without permission, and the people helping them will help them to get illegally across borders, either by land, sea, or air. The people smugglers, who are also called human traffickers, charge a fee for their services and might provide fake documents or money to help people reach their destination. Sometimes, people smugglers will also provide food, clothing, or transport services during the move. It is important to remember that people smuggling is illegal and can be very dangerous - people smugglers do not always keep promises and might not help people in the way they expected.
