Peplos

A peplos is a piece of clothing that people in ancient Greece used to wear. Picture a really long and wide bedsheet made out of soft fabric. They would fold the sheet in half and pin one side so that it would stay in place. Then they would wrap the unfolded side around their body and secure it with more pins. This would create a loose, but comfortable dress. The fabric was usually colorful and decorated with pretty patterns. The peplos was worn by both men and women and was a popular choice of clothing in ancient Greece because it was easy to make and wear.
