ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Persistence (computer science)

Persistence (computer science) is when information can stay in a computer without being affected when the computer is turned off. For example, if you write a letter in a word processing program and save it, that letter will be there the next time you open the program, even if you turn off your computer. It's like your computer can remember the letter you wrote even when it's turned off.
