Person–situation debate

The person-situation debate is about people's behavior. It is a debate between two groups - one group believes that people's behavior is determined by their personalities (people), and the other group believes that people's behavior is determined by the situation they find themselves in (situation). For example, if someone is kind in one situation but rude in another, the first group thinks this happens because of the person's personality and the second group thinks it happens because of the different situations.
