ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Phase resetting in neurons

Phase resetting is like when a neuron inside your brain wakes up and gets an extra electric charge. It happens when the neuron receives too much energy from outside in the form of an electric signal. This extra electric charge wakes up the neuron and tells it to keep firing, or sending out a signal. This makes the neuron more likely to keep sending signals and makes it easier for signals to travel between different parts of the brain.
