Philadelphia Election riot

Okay, so you know how when we have a big vote, like when we decide who the president will be, people can get very excited and passionate about who they want to win? Well, a long time ago in Philadelphia, there was a big vote for who would be the next mayor, and things got really out of hand.

Some people wanted one candidate to win, and other people wanted another candidate to win. They got into arguments, shouting matches, and fights. It got so bad that they started attacking each other with weapons like clubs and knives.

The police tried to stop the fighting, but they were outnumbered, and they couldn't control the crowd. People started to break windows, set fires, and destroy buildings. The city was in chaos.

Eventually, the National Guard had to come in and help restore order. Many people were injured or killed, and it was a really sad and scary time for everyone in Philadelphia.

So, basically, the Philadelphia election riot was a time when people got so worked up about who they wanted to win an election that they started fighting with each other and causing a lot of damage to the city. It was a really bad situation that nobody wants to see happen again.
