Photoplotter

Okay, so a photoplotter is like a really special printer for making really important pictures. But instead of using ink or toner like your regular printer does, it uses a special light to make the picture.

So, imagine you have a piece of paper with lines on it. Those lines tell the photoplotter where to shine its light and where not to shine it. When the light shines on a certain spot, that spot becomes part of the picture.

After the picture is finished, it usually goes through a process where it is etched onto a really thin piece of metal, like a copper plate. This copper plate then gets put into a machine that can cut out the picture onto a circuit board or something else really important.

So, basically, a photoplotter makes really important pictures that get used to make really important things. And it does it using a special light instead of ink or toner.
