Phototherapy

Hi little one, today I'm going to tell you about phototherapy, which is a treatment that uses light to help people feel better.

You know how we love the sunlight and how it makes us feel good? Well, doctors use a special kind of light called "blue light" to help people who get sad or upset. It's called "blue" because it looks a bit blue-ish when you see it.

The doctors use a big lamp that shines this blue light on the person's skin, and it helps their body create more happy hormones. These hormones are called "endorphins," and they help people feel less sad or upset. So, it's like getting a big, warm hug from the sun.

People use phototherapy for lots of different reasons. For example, doctors might use it to help babies who are born too early and need to grow bigger and stronger. They might also use it for people who have a skin condition called "psoriasis," which makes some parts of their skin look red and scaly.

Overall, phototherapy is a really cool way that doctors can use light to help people feel better. And who doesn't love a little sunshine in their life?
