ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Plane–plane intersection

When two planes meet each other, they can either cross each other like two cars on a road or they can share a common line like two pieces of paper touching each other at one edge. The point where the two planes meet is called the intersection. It's like the point where two roads meet at a junction.

It can also be a place where two different ideas or directions come together. Imagine you are playing with two toys and they bump into each other. That’s the intersection of your playtime! Similarly, when two planes intersect, it’s where they cross paths, meet, or “bump into” each other.

Finding the intersection of two planes can be tricky, but mathematicians have some tricks up their sleeves! They use equations to represent the planes and then solve those equations to find the point where the planes intersect. It’s like solving a puzzle or a brain teaser.

So, when we talk about plane-plane intersection, we’re really talking about the point where two planes meet, and how we can figure out where that point is.
