ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Playing rugby league

Rugby league is a game where two teams try to score points by carrying or passing a ball across the other team's goal line.

There are 13 players on each team, and each player has a specific position on the field.

The game starts with a kick-off and the team with the ball tries to move down the field by passing and running with the ball. The other team tries to stop them using tackles.

If a player from the team with the ball gets tackled, they have to let go of the ball and the other team gets to try and pick it up.

If a player from the team with the ball gets to the other team's goal line, they score a try which is worth 4 points.

After a try is scored, the team gets a chance to kick the ball through the goal posts, which is worth an extra 2 points.

The game is divided into two halves, each lasting 40 minutes, with a break in between.

The team with the most points at the end of the game wins!
