Plesiochronous system

Plesiochronous system is a fancy word that means things are kind of working together, but not exactly at the same pace. Let's imagine we're all marching in a big parade. We all start at the same time, but some of us walk faster or slower than others. So, we're not exactly in step with each other, but we're all still moving forward.

In the world of technology, plesiochronous systems are used in things like phone calls, where a bunch of different pieces of equipment need to talk to each other. Imagine a long tunnel where people are passing a soccer ball from one end to the other. Everyone starts at the same time, but maybe some people pass the ball quickly and others pass it more slowly. In the end, the ball still gets to the other end of the tunnel even though some people were a bit slower or faster than others.

So, in a plesiochronous system, different parts of the technology might be going at slightly different speeds, but they all still work together and get the job done. It's like a big parade where we all march to the same beat, but some of us are taking slightly bigger or smaller steps to keep up.
