Plug (sanitation)

Alright kiddo, let's talk about plugs in sanitation. You know how in your sink, sometimes the water doesn't go down and just sits there? Well, sometimes this happens in bigger places like a hotel or a mall, where many people use the bathroom at the same time. When lots of people use the toilets and sinks, it can create a blockage in the pipes that take the dirty water away.

When this happens, professionals called plumbers come in to fix the problem. They use a special tool called a plug, which is like a big rubber disk with a handle. The plumber puts the plug into the drain, like in the bottom of the toilet or sink, and pumps it up and down. This creates pressure and forces the blockage to move along the pipes until it can be removed.

It's important to keep the pipes clean and free from blockages so that we can all use the bathroom and wash our hands safely and cleanly. So next time you see a plugged sink, you'll know how the experts fix it!
