A Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PEV) is an electric car that is powered by electricity instead of gasoline. It plugs into an outlet in your home, like a laptop or cellphone charger, and stores the energy it needs to drive. When you are ready to travel somewhere, you can “fill up” your vehicle the same way you would fill a tank of gasoline. The electric car won’t make any noise, and it won’t pollute the air like cars that use gasoline.
