Pocong

Pocong is a scary creature from Indonesia that looks like a ghost. The word "pocong" actually means "wrapped" or "bound up" in Indonesian. According to Indonesian folklore, pocongs are the spirits of dead people who have not been properly buried.

Pocongs are known for being wrapped up in a white cloth or shroud, which is tied around their body, head, and feet. This is supposed to keep their spirits from wandering around and causing trouble. Some people believe that if the cloth becomes undone, the pocong's spirit can escape and haunt the living.

In Indonesia, it's common for people to believe in ghosts and supernatural creatures. Many people are afraid of pocongs, especially during certain times of the year, like around the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr, when it's believed that the spirits of the dead are most active.

Despite their scary reputation, pocongs are also a popular subject in Indonesian culture, like in movies, books, and even video games. Some people even dress up as pocongs during certain events, like Halloween or haunted house attractions.
