Polenta is kind of like a very yummy side dish that you can eat with your dinner. It's made from a special type of corn called "polenta corn". First, the corn is ground up into a fine powder (like the stuff you put in your pancakes!) Then, you mix the powder with water, and heat it up on the stove. This makes the polenta get thicker and thicker, until it's kind of like a really soft, warm, jiggly pudding. Finally, you can eat the polenta plain, or you can add other yummy things to it, like cheese or butter. Yum!
