Political families of Australia

In Australia, there are some families who are very involved with politics. This means that lots of members of the same family have jobs in politics and work together to help make decisions for the country. Some families have been involved in politics for many years and have even had family members who have been Prime Minister, which is like the boss of Australia!

For example, there is a family called the Abbott family. They have three generations of politicians in their family, including Tony Abbott, who was the Prime Minister of Australia from 2013 to 2015. His father was also a politician and his sister is a politician too.

Another famous political family in Australia is the Turnbull family. Malcolm Turnbull was the Prime Minister from 2015 to 2018, and his father and grandfather both worked in politics too. His wife, Lucy Turnbull, is also a politician in her own right.

Sometimes people can feel worried that all the important jobs in politics are being taken by members of the same few families. However, it's important to remember that everyone has the opportunity to get involved in politics and make a difference for their community and country!
