ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Political prisoners in Israel

Okay, imagine you have a group of friends and you all decide to play a game. But then one of your friends does something the others don't like and they decide to stop playing with them. This is kind of like what happens with political prisoners in Israel.

In Israel, there are some people who are put in jail because they spoke out against the government or did something that the government didn't agree with. These people are called political prisoners.

Now, you might think that putting someone in jail just for disagreeing with the government isn't fair. And some people in Israel and around the world agree with you. They think that people should be allowed to speak their minds and that putting them in jail goes against their basic rights.

But other people think that if someone does something the government doesn't like, they should be punished for it. They might think that the person is trying to cause trouble or that they're dangerous.

So, to sum it up: Political prisoners in Israel are people who are in jail because they did something that the government didn't agree with. Some people think this is okay, but others think it's not fair.
