Polyclonal response

Polyclonal response is a type of immune system response. It means the body is fighting multiple things at the same time. Our immune system is usually very good at finding and fighting off germs (like bacteria and viruses) that can make us sick. When we get sick, our bodies make proteins called antibodies to fight off these germs. With a polyclonal response, the body makes lots of different types of antibodies to fight lots of different types of germs. This helps protect us from getting really sick and helps our body fight off more germs than it could if it only had one kind of antibody.
