Polydactyly

Polydactyly is when someone is born with one or more extra fingers or toes on their hands or feet. Sometimes, it runs in families and can be inherited from parents who also have extra digits. Other times, it can happen randomly and for no particular reason. People with polydactyly are usually just as healthy and normal as anyone else, but they may need some special shoes or gloves to fit their extra digits. Sometimes, doctors may even remove the extra digits if they are too big or cause discomfort. But overall, having polydactyly is not a big deal and does not affect how smart or talented a person can be.
