Polyptych

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a picture that you love so much that you want to make it bigger. But you only have a small piece of paper to work with. What do you do?

Well, someone a long time ago had the same problem and they came up with a solution called a polyptych. A polyptych is when you take a picture and cut it into smaller pieces, and then put those pieces together again on a bigger canvas or board.

It's like taking a puzzle and spreading it out, and then putting the pieces back together in a bigger puzzle. But instead of a puzzle, it's a picture.

So now you can enjoy your favorite picture, but it's much bigger and you can see more details. Isn't that cool?
