Poppa Neutrino

Okay kiddo, so imagine that inside everything around us, there are these tiny little things called particles. One type of particle is called a neutrino, and they're super tiny.

Now imagine that there's a really big thing in space called a star, and it's so big that it's super hot and bright. Sometimes, these big stars go through something called a supernova, which is like a really big explosion.

When a star goes through a supernova, it releases a bunch of energy and particles, including lots of neutrinos. One of the first people to ever detect these neutrinos was a scientist named Frederick Reines, who called them "poppa" neutrinos because they were the first ones discovered.

So that's what a poppa neutrino is - just a type of super tiny particle that comes from really big explosions in space called supernovas.
